I tried to launch from Crystal Springs but it was closed. Went to Tompkins bend and was able to use the ramp but it was almost covered up. Had to really throttle back on the lake. There was/is a lot of floating hazards that could ruin the day. Water is up in the trees and stained  but I was able to get bites out from the bank in water over 8 foot deep. The two that I put in the boat were over 13 inch and were caught on weightless 7 inch worms watermelon seed.

We were run out of the camp grounds in area D because the water was starting to cover the road into that site. Ranger told us we had to evacuate. I tried to fish but spent most of my time cooped up in the camper trying to stay out of the rain and away from lighting. I did catch a few catfish on my buddies secret bait and a few crappie before the rains started. Looks like the Corp are starting to drop the water. Bill

When I came off the water at Tompkin's Bent some people who work for the Sanitation company said that the Corp was releasing water. Maybe the water will drop some and clear up over the next week.

With the water level up and campgrounds closed due to flooding how long does it normally take to get back normal..
