Every year when I winterize my boat I "fog" the engine by bringing the rpms up to about 1800 and spraying the carb throat until the engine chokes off. I then remove the plugs, spray each combustion chamber and install a fresh spark plug. My question, is it neccessary to run the engine during this process?

Yep. But it is not neccessary to remove the plugs and spray the cylinders afterwards. You have already coated them by spraying fogging oil in the intake/plenum while the engine is running. Make sure those spark plugs are stainless.

CAT, just outside of Prattville. ;)

Talk about getting an early start on that tailgating scene, those chickens (and everything else in that parking lot) had better watch out for CATs come Friday night....

week. I will probably not be on here as much. :( Taking a voluntary layoff for the next five weeks. So I am going to try to get some things done around the house and the farm. But I will definitely try to keep up with the goings on....
