Probably too late but what needs to be done to a 60hp 4 stroke to winterize it. I was busy moving trailer for the flood and forgot to do anything to boat. I have been using stabil in the fuel all the time what else should I have done???

Well, Cat is our resident engine man but is tied up with the Cathouse Review that's opening soon in Vegas. I will try to help ya out during is absentee.

After adding your Stabil fuel additive, run the engine for at least 5 to 10 minutes with a muff water source to thoroughly warm the block and circulate the treated fuel through the system. Then,, pull the fuel and as long it's NOT a OptiMax outboard you need to "FOG IT" as it starts to sputter and kick down, Yamaha’s Store-Rite is a good agent I use. ATF in a spray bottle will work in a pinch. This is up to you..... You’ll also want to change the fuel filter and water separator to make it complet. Also a Oil Change at this time can't hurt any thing.

Since it's a out board you need to let the drive all the way down and store it this way. This will let all the water out and keep you from cracking the "FOOT" When left in the up position water will settle in the exhaust base and expand and crack into the gear housing. If in the weather, Bio-shield or Mercury’s Corrosion Guard spray is a nice touch if stored outside This keeps that white crusty aluminium corrosion off during the down season.

I hope this helps and good luck.
