As far as I know there is no place to buy gizzard shad in the Lake Martin area.

I can deliver shad, in the Lake Martin area, or other parts of Alabama. Call me 205-281-2882 for details.

How much are they a dozen? What is minimum order?

The price and minimum order depends on where you want them delivered too. email me at barefieldgk@gmail.com with your location and I will provide you with an estimate, usually it is from 60 to 250 gizzard shad, at 14 to 22 dollars a dozen depending on the number of shad and the number of miles to your location. Also I am booked up with deliveries until march 5, but could take orders for more after that.

Are there gizzard shad in Martin? Or, just threadfin?

There is Gizzard shad in Lake Martin, but most of the shad you see in Martin are threadfin. If you see a shad that is bigger than 6 inches it is a Gizzard. Gizzard shad have a hump in their back and a rounded nose. Threadfin shad are streamlined and have a more pointed nose, with a lateral line high on their side. (this is not a scientific description)
