THE CHAMPIONSHIP
Madness came and madness went,
Early in the contest, most brackets were spent.
So why then am I writing this little ditty?
Of course to pay tribute to the amazing SMITTY!
Just like Big Brown in the Derby Kentucky
SMITTY made a big move...others were not so lucky.
But it wasn't luck driving him up that hill
Just SMITTY, the prognosticator, driving that DUKEmobile!
So what happened at the Big Dance to cause such a hit?
Well, most would say that the BUTLER did it!
The Bulldog was great, just one bark short of a growl
Thus relegating second place to PC AL.
DUPONT fought a brave battle but alas
He quite simply ran out of gas!
Then the legendary TALISI rushed hard for more
He deadlocked with DUPONT, then won the score.
The Sweet Sixteen is also in the vault
With PC AL taking it from JOHNGALT.
So now BIGFOOT retires to his fridge for a beer
only to await his next shot at a fantasy career!

Obviously, Louie knows more than football. Sometime after finishing my taxes, I want you and jlazc (or mcgill?) to help me organize a lunch for forumites that would hopefully include a bunch of our pool comrades. AJ'SDAD is working on a little recognition project for the recent football and basketball winners. I will post or email more on that after April 15...I waited way too long to start on my taxes but I will blame that on the rock seawall...maybe I will get sympathy from Lakngulf....

It was so well done that I thought there may be a possibility of a ghost writer. Mrs. BigFoot took over one weekend with what she called mindless babble, or maybe there was a "rude" ghost.

Again, great job with it all BigFoot, poem included. Congrats again to Smitty but I would be pulling for Butler again even if I were in last place. They had a great tournament and displayed a lot of class. Now let's get Auburn and Bama in the darn thing next year..... and UAB too.

Ditto! What a tournament! A final to remember for a long time. Hats off to Duke and Butler. Great pics in a year of upsets. Thanks to all for a fun time.

Wow. I finished so far back I didn't even make the poem.
We'll try again next year. Thanks BF for doing all of this. It was fun as always. If yall make it up to Logan Martin this year, let us know.
