Plenty of White bass but No Stripes

Me and my friend had good success last weekend catching white bass up river at the shoals last weekend. Every Cast was a bite, it was that good. However, we had no stripers. We got up river 30 min before daylight throwing our saltwater top water baits and didnt get a single thing. Usually this time of the year, you can get a huge stripe doing this. My dad took my two roomates to midlake the same day and caught 3 stripes about 6-10 lbs and their limit of spotted bass. Me and my friend are gonna try upriver again this weekend. Hopefully, we will have better luck with the stripes. Ive always been told that the white bass spawn up river before stripes do. Then the stripes move in heavily. Would put pics up but cant do it.

The BIG Stripes have spawned out and moved into the deep river. Catching 20 lbs plus around the island in 40 to 60 feet of water.
