Went to the lake this week end to clean up boat and house. Started with pontoon boat, had mildew remover and boat was cleaning up good. Noticed the docking lights were really cruddy. Sprayed them with cleaner but brush was to big to get to them. Just reached up with my hand and brushed them with soap and water. About thirty min. later—SWEET HOLY PICKLES!!!! My hand were on fire-nothing would help-just had to wait it out-turns out the lights housing were fiberglass. Went to internet and found out duct tape would help remove the small splinters.

This does not sound like fiberglass. It sounds like a chemical burns. Where you cleaning with a acid and was any of what you cleaned aluminum?

No it was just soapy water and mildew remover(not together)-same mix I have used for years. It was some kind of residue from light housing. My hand would stick to my shirt like velco till I tried the duct tape-

From working with and grinding fiberglass my shirts are full of fibers. I have to wear an undershirt to keep them from sticking me.
Once I stuck my hand in a dark area under a boat deck and got bit by a Black Widow.
Mildew Killer: don't ever mix Clorox and Dawn dishing washing soap and spray in the air. It is poison.
