I know. About Tuesday of the work week (when there was one) my thoughts turned to "What meats will we smoke/burn on the grill this weekend". Sometimes that gets tiresome.
How bout' some Pasta recipes. We don't mention them much here, but, I'll bet many of you like Pasta?? Share with us.
Spaghetti is my favorite, with Cuban bread and a crisp white wine.
Share.

Not exactly what we normally think of when someone says pasta, but if you grill the onions too.... YUM YUM!!

1 LB Medium (30-40 count) Shrimp Peeled and deveined
1 Medium purple onion chopped
1 Bunch green onions chopped
1 LB sliced mushrooms
1/2 t. Garlic powder
1/2 t. minced garlic
3 Sticks unsalted butter
Salt to taste
1 LB Fettuccine cooked al dente

Go to the kitchen and wash your hands.

Sauté onions, mushrooms, minced garlic and 1/4 t. garlic powder in 2 sticks of butter.
Put shrimp on skewer and grill, basting with 1 stick of melted butter and remainder of garlic powder.

Thicken onion sauté with flour and milk. Serve onion sauté and shrimp over a bed of pasta. Add cayenne or other spices to taste.

Serves 6 to 8.

I love to cook pasta. One of my favorite things is when I make a sauce of tomatoes, artichoke hearts, black olives. Sometimes I cook and throw in some Italian sausage and put it over a bed of pasta.
Of course, nothing can beat a sauce of slow roasted roma tomatoes tossed with some olive oil and garlic. The roasting of the tomatoes concentrates their flavor. Add some fresh herbs. It tastes like summer on a plate.
