Heather, Do you mix your own gel coat colors? I have tried it a few times but have not been very successful. Fortunately most of my work is structural and not cosmetic. Thanks, Houseboat

Yes, I do if I must. I prefer to get a factory match when able. It's really hit and miss trying to match anything. I tell folks if I cant get factory color, that I can get it close.

Always remember they will dry about 2 shades darker than they look wet.

I believe it, about the drying. I tried to match paint color (white/gray) on a waverunner with gel coat and it came out too dark on all 5 coats. White/white is not a problem.

NC2 Now you know why I got out of the paint business. #1 Color Matches. #2 Paint will dry darker as much as 2 shades darker than when it is wet depending on how dark the color is. The only exception is when you use a really really cheap paint it will actually dry lighter.
