Another great day at the lake. I put a Boston Butt and a whole fryer on the smoker at 7:30 this morning using a mix of hickory and apple woods. More of the teams I judge at BBQ contest are using that mixture for a sweeter smoked taste.
We have been having a good slow steady rain all night and it looks like it will stay that way most of the day. Boy, do we ever need this rain. Thank you Lord.

We certainly had some rain yesterday. I cooked indoor yesterday. But today, got a butt on the grill.

Hound....I hope yours turns out as good as mine did. I had a bbq snadwich today and I do believe it was better today. I guess I had too much hickory/apple smoke up my nose yesterday.

It was good. But, I always think it is better the 2nd day. Seems like that smokey flavor and the seasonings come together after it sits overnight.
