Just want to share another WONDERFUL experience with someone claiming to be the best on the lake and all about helping you out.

So, I have my cousin, his wife and her family in from out of the country. They get down to the house and are having troubles starting the boat (ignition switch).  Being 2 hours from the lake, there is not a lot I can do until the weekend. So I start calling around to try and find someone to go over and fix it.  Finally talk to someone and ask if he can help me out.  He said no problem; I can get out there on Friday. Friday morning about 11:00 I call just to see where we were on his list of people to get to.  He says I can't find the switch anywhere; maybe you can call and find one. Ok, this is what I'm paying you for but I'll see if I have any luck.  The FIRST place I call has it!!! SO I call him back and tell him where to get the switch.  He then tells me to call my cousin at the house and have him go pick it up, then give him my number and tell him to call me when he gets back to the house and I will try to help him do it over the phone.  REALLY?? Get bent!!! DON'T TELL SOMEONE YOU ARE GOING TO DO SOMETHING AND THEN THE DAY OF ACT LIKE A DOUCHE BAG!!!

So, what did I do??  I made the 2 hour drive and fixed it myself Saturday morning.  This is it!! From  this day forward, I will bring my boat back to Georgia to have work done or either pay my guy up here to drive down.

I am just amazed at all the great press this guy gets. This is the second time we have been screwed by him and have only used him twice!!!  He must be paying all these people under the table to pump him up.

I am sorry that I let you down sir! There were four other stops planned before I spoke with you on Thursday. Thursday you said "I don't need you to come, the people at your house could do it". Then you called and said come. I did indeed tell you that I saw no problem coming to help you! Although not your fault, I had a seriously hard time with a Cobalt that took much of my day. Cell service was spotty. Yes, I did ask for someone to locate a parts house and get the part during the day. Yes, I did say it was a very easy and quick fix and that I would gladely walk someone through it on the phone. No sir, you were'nt paying me ONE CENT to come do the repair, I told your son on the phone based on our last business together I was not going to charge you because of the way you spoke to me. My own Dad would not talk to me like that. BUT, I indeed wanted to help you. It's just my nature. I just was unable to do so... In person anyway. For that I appologize. And, I NEVER claimed I was the best on the Lake, or anywhere else. Also, I don't know how you can say I acted like a D Bag. I was very respectful to you, always have been and will continue to. Respectfully Sir, we just don't need to do business with each other. It just has'nt worked out, and it is a bad reletionship. I understand that. And, last, you (or your son) told me it had been getting worse over the past several weeks before it COMPLETELY STOPPED working. Probably should have been addressed before now. Just sayin'! I know this is not the place to air-out dirty laundry, so I appologize to other forum members for doing so. Not my nature!

This is the son!! NO, I never told you that they could do it. This was a paying job. I todl you that you were dealing with me and not my father.

I think is great that you try to make yourself sound like the victim.

Sorry I was some one who didnt fall for the Kitty Cat BS!!!!!

If you would like we can meet up next time I'm down there and talk about it.

Bass after that tirade, take it back to GA then.
It's why I will not touch a boat from people like you.  I can hear it in the first inflections of phone call.

Folks are understaffed, parts don't show up on time or can't be found as one may have thought they could. Repairs take longer the thought because the boat is a wreck.

You just lost all "good & honest" service on the lake by any whom may find out who you are IRL from this forum..
Think before you go all scorched earth on folks.

A reputation is made or broken by 1 comment.
A long and good reputation attacked only brings you scorn by all.

I think you just need to take your grumpy a $ $ back to georgia and stay there.  Alabama will be better off.  If you have a mechanic in Georgia that will put up with your attitude he must be a saint.

LOL.

Just because I get shi**y service and complain about it, doesnt make me the bad guy.

If it was Joe down the street, y'all would be singing a different tune.

Whatever you believe, it still doesn't make it right.

Again, LOL!!!!!!!!!

Hob, you did have a chitty attitude. Did those adjustments work? Actually, Bass had a good attitude and was nice Friday on the phone. I could tell he became a little ill when I ask if his friend that was at his home would mind picking up the part. Maybe I handled the day wrong. Sometimes relationships just don't work out. I was only trying to help, and failed to do so. Although I don't really care for his attitude now, he was the victom, not I. Maybe one day our paths will cross again, and I can make it up to him. Bet one thing though..... I will never try to help fix his boat on the phone.

I've seen this behavior before.....someone has a mechanical problem with their boat (or car or truck) and they blame everyone who tries to help. Maybe this guy should start his own business since he already knows everything. He thinks its proper to throw blame around, as if it would stick to something, but he's really showing his true character by calling someone a douche bag. tsk...tsk...tsk...

Wow, this is the best gripe you can come up with? Try calling any of the other sources on or near the lake, or God help you one of the marinas, and find out that your wait before anyone touches your boat will be weeks, not hours. From the time you give it to them, no getting in "line" before you drop it off!!! I'm amazed at the instant gratification mentality of some people, but guess I shouldn't be by now...... Always nice when it's followed up by a rant that sounds like a childish tantrum.

Instant gratification?? Funny!

If it’s a week or an hour, don’t tell me you’re going to do then change your mind.

But it's ok; we will get all this worked out this weekend.

Don’t provide S***ty service and you won't get s***ty comments.  And for everyone else, I could care less what you say or think.  It amazes me how many people think what happened was right, but what can you expect from the (intelligent) people of Alabama.

SYS!!

Again LOL!!!!!! rednecks crack me up!!

Looks like lots of folks have been flagged.  Even houseboat was flagged on his post about the transom repair.  All the OFF TOPIC posts I saw were flagged so maybe it's a system issue.  That being said, this thread should be deleted.  It is inflamatory and derogatory toward another member.

I have no idea, what you, bass, do for a living and could care less, I watch and read this web site just as much as the other people do.  I have dealt with Cat in the past, and he stands by his word and yes things do happen. I welcome anyone who trys to help, and can get me on the water, for a ride. But face it, a boat is a boat and things happen. If you can not except this,  maybe you do not need to own a boat or use someone else's. As far as I am concerned, you have way to much time on your hands. I just wish, I lived in your little perfect world, where everything goes as you have planned. Go get a life, wake up and grow up. Enough is enough give it a rest and move on BASS.

Honestly Cat I would have handled this pretty much the same way, what most don't realize is that they are scheduled behind someone else, there are other people in front of you, always have been always will be. Sometimes these jobs take a turn for the worse, all you can do at that point is grit your teeth , finish the job at hand and move on to the next one. What I see happening a lot is this, the ski or boat will actually break at the end of the season, but while most of us in the biz are sitting around twiddling out thumbs all winter the boats sit uncared for in someones back yard. Fast forward to Spring the boat is still broken but hey its nice and warm outside and everyone wants to go ride their boat, all on the same weekend. There is a saying in the biz, a lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part , words to live by right there.
