I have Coosa Cable now & have trouble with some of the HD channels pixling off & on, I checked on Direct TV and can get double the HD channels for about the same money & have HD DVR & another HD box in the bedroom (I currently just have one HD cable box & watch regular channels in the bedroom. Direct TV offers free instalation & free equipment.  Anyone have Direct TV? How do you like it? Did you have Coosa Cable before?

We have Dish and Coosa cable .  We added Dish several years ago so we could get the pay per view football games . At the time Coosa cable didnt offer them on a regular basis and you really didnt know until the weekend if they were available or not .  The only problems we have had with Dish is when it rains really hard we lose signal for a short time but it usually doesent last very long . I think Dish and Direct programing are basically the same.

We have direct TV but have never had Coosa..... We use Coosa for our Internet only.

We are very pleased with Direct and am almost ready to dump CHarter at the house in Bham for Direct.

Movinfr8, I have Charter in Birmingham too, I had to sign a 2 year contract a few months ago because I got tired of their rates changing every 6 months. In looking at Direct TV's HD channels they look like they have Charter beat also. If all goes well at the lake house I may change at the end of the contract.

We canceled Charters internet service a couple of months ago after going through 6 service calls and 8 router boxes in a little over a month with the problem not fixed. I called last week and asked for a discount on my bill because of all the good offers by ATT and Direct TV and they said no unless I bundle with their Internet and Phone...... I got the guys name and said I would use it when I canceled their service.

I have their wireless modem and you can watch the signal meter on my laptop, the signal goes up & down, sometimes drops the signal all together. They put a splitter in the garage that plugs into a power outlet, suppose to boost the signal but I think it is more for the TV than internet

I used a nice wireless from bestbuy and even hardwired directly into their modem and still could not get consistant service which prevented me from working from the house which was a pain when I wanted to stay home.

i have been a DirecTv customer for about 8 years now, customer service is easy to contact and very easy to work with. we have it at the lake and in Bham, my dad has charter and i have finally convinced him to switch to DirecTV before football starts. with directv you can carry it with you for tailgating or camping with a portable dish which is easy to set up

Just a side note. You cannot get ESPNs college gameplan on Dish, Direct TV only.
