I moved here about six years ago and at that time and some time before there has been a sign on Stemly bridge that said" DO NOT EAT THE FISH" and it is still there. There is a long story as to the history of the PCBs on Logan Martin and alot of money has already channged hands because of it.  Just guessing but it seems someboby is stiring the flames again.

Mid age don't get excited about this post

I think the PCB scare started in the late 70's, maybe early 80's. My parents had a place back then not far from the dam. It looks like after that many years something would have improved. I don't know how the PCB travels in water, is it just on the bottom & mainly in bottom feeders like catfish or is it mixed all in the water surface to bottom & effect all fish.

I know it has been around for a long time, for years when I was younger we made fun of the fact that you could not eat the fish but it seemsthe advisory was lifted sometime in the early 90s..... I think back then it was mainly catfish on the restricted list but this one seems to be stripped bass.  I know PCBs are the reason APCO will not let you dig much in the bed of the lake for fear of disturbing what has settled.

This is nothing new. ADPH has issued the very same PCB warnings for the Coosa river for many years.
I am not saying that it is not a big deal. I would think most people that live on or even play on LM would know this.
