My oldest son Brad came to Lake Martin from Mandaville, LA for a visit and fishing trip. We spent 3 days on the water fishing for spotted bass and stripers. We only caught 2 small stripers, large quantity of white bass but killed the spots.
Spotted Bass – were stacked up in Blue creek in 40 feet of water feeding on shad. Find a wad of bait, drop a spoon to that dept and hold on. 99% of the fish would hit the bait on the fall and a few would hit as we were reeling up. We spent some time in the Kowaliga, Spots were larger catching some on spoons and others on shaky heads with key lime pie finesse worms around wood. Bite was lite with only a heavy feeling on the line.
