Subject:	What is up with these players?

Seems every day we read about another player who is suspended for the bowl game or dismissed from the team for off field problems. A few have me questioning my picks. Just don't understand this behavior. Maybe head coaches need to line up all the players and give all a swift kick in the butt to remind them of their responsibility to their school and teammates.

There is a growing underclass in the county where there are no parents and the kids raise the kids. Some of these toughs are ambitious. They play football because they see it as a way to riches. Many end up on the junk heap when they are put into a structured college program. But some figure out a way to stay in the progam. In case you haven't noticed football is starting to look like the arena kill-boxing that you see on TV. I'd rather watch baseball....

Agreed about the family situation affecting so many. Too bad, wasting such opportunities.
Baseball is my favorite sport also. As the years go on, I find caring about pro ball less n less with the mega bucks, attitudes, and then every once in awhile a player or team will rise up and be worth watching. LIke the playoffs when Bobby Cox's last game and the Giants came onto the field to applaud his retirement. That was a class act that touched the heart.
