I'm on Allatoona and will need somebody to look at and repair some gouges I have on the underside of my hull.  I will post a picture later for reference but the biggest scratch is about 5" long and about 1/8" wide, not sure how deep.

Boat was in water all season, never sank so not sure how much water was seeping in but regardless I want to get these fixed.

I'm not a DIYer so recommendations in the Allatoona area would be great.

If it is a day job, perhaps a mobile repair person could come to Allatoona as an option?

There are a few of us in Central Alabama that do that sort of thing on boats but if you don't know of a marine repair place in your area and the damaage is not structural you could just go to a auto body shop that has experience with fiberglass repair. I would make sure they do not paint the repair. They should just reapply and refinish the gelcoat. Happy New Year, Houseboat

here is a blurry picture, sorry about the blur.  My son's finger to provide some relativity in size.

If you don't mind transporting it a bit you might contact Spookeay Marine. They are good at that sort of thing. You can see their ad on Lake Martin site.

what do you experts think of "marine tex" ?  Is it something that works/lasts on a gouge like mine?  Would it be necessary to do anything on top of marine tex?

Thanks in advance.
