Surprized nobody on this forum already said it. Great game, great season, great conference. Even the national media is saying the SEC is the very best.
Observations:
1. Cam Newton's second half was not normal. Don't know when he hurt his back, but it showed. Thank goodness for a defense and a running game. Fairley and company cleaned their clock.
2. Turf conditions were terrible for both teams. Very, very poor for a National Championship Game. That affected the play and the final score as well.
3. National Media respect for the AU Program was finally accomplished. AU is normally relegated by the media as an occasional regional threat to more recognizable programs, such as Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida.
4. It is truly a miracle that any SEC Team can win a National Championship based on win/loss record. Intraconference games among SEC teams almost always denies an undefeated season, which zaps a Title. Truly amazing that it keeps happening!
5. SEC West this year was awsome in the bowl games. Especially Bama and Miss State!!

Calm down now. I know winning the championship was HUGE, but "walk on water" is a little stretch. I was just hoping we could by-pass the "trophy to Walmart" event. Did Florida and LSU do that when they won, or is that just an Alabama thing.
