In preparation, what tackle do you experts use?? Pro's and Con's?
I don't do those 2:00AM fishing things, with lights and all. I just try to find concentrations around submerged wood cover if possible during daylight hours.
But, what rigs do you use? UltraLite spincast?  Regular spinning rigs? What?
Not too soon to start talking about it.

Mostly what I catch are maybe 1 to 1 1/2 pounds, if that. Seems like filleting that small a fish wastes a lot of fish. Does anybody ever just scale/gut the smaller "legal" crappie, and prepare it like a Bream??

I always clean crappie the "traditional way". I agree it is a big waste to fillet them, we always pull the fins out after they are cooked to eliminate most of the bones.
