Hey Guys,
New to posting....been reading posts for a while.

I got a 30HP Nissan 4 stroke.  Got it out of storage and it ran great for about 5 minutes.  I hit a wake and it hiccupped.  (not sure that is a player)
Now, to start the engine, I need a lot of choke....warm or cold... and high choke to idle....runs great with high rpm with lots of choke.
Once I lower the choke and rpms drop, the engine usually dies before I can get it in gear.  If I do get it in gear, the rpms stay very low with very little pull.  I tried some carb cleaner, checked out the air intakes, changed the spark plugs, new gas....etc.  I am out of ideas and looking for someone to help me out with ideas or a recommendation for a good mechanic.
PS.  The boat was a gift, so no ragging on me because it isn't a Yamaha :)
Thanks.

PB

No one has one of those "duh, why didn't I think of that" ideas?

I am on the north east side of the lake.
The question was more of "is your facility on the water? If I tow the boat there, can you get it out and work on it?"
It is in a boathouse now and the trailor would be a bit of a pain to get out.  I think towing it behind my other boat would be easier.

The Nissan is a Tahatsu under the Nissan name.

I am about 500 yards from the water. Prolly should drive your way and check it out first. Lets chat on the phone. Email me, and lets get together. And, GF, I learned that last weekend, and the engines seemed nice, and easy to work on.
