According to https://lakes.alabamapower.com/ the numbers are starting to go down. Yea! Now starts the fun of the clean up. What a beautiful day to be outside!

Probably just my imagination but it does appear to be down a couple inches just south of Lakeside, hoping anyway. I think we have seen the crest. Probably be about 3 or 4 days coming back down. I like the idea of all of us getting together. Not only would it be enjoyable but we need to know our neighbors so we can help each other in times like this, or any need for assistance. Example, I was working in Arizona this week when I heard that we were flooding. I had to do some scrambling to find someone to push my boat out and tie it at the end of the dock. We seem to have a lot of very good and nice folks around the lake and we should take advantage of the opportunities to socialize. Herb Palmertree 404 915 5004

Herb, when we have the list of people interested, we WILL make it happen, soon! What part of the lake are you on?

St Clair side, just south of Lakeside and the BP station in Catatoga Estates. Look forward to meeting you and the others. We are basically "weekenders plus" as we live in Atlanta but are spending more and more time here, about half the time. I travel a lot and usually fly out of Birmingham so it's an excuse to be over here.

Great idea;is there a list of emails or folks numbers and addresses etc that could be used to form a committee or soemthing in the eventthis occurs again, and it will,   you could help a neighbor; if it was not for David Smith of "spyder be gone" systems my boat would be under as we too live in Atlanta, we were lucky as there was no safe place to tie her off and no time to take her to the marin so David had his son drive some 30 minutes or so to our builder to get a key, go in the house, flip the breaker, lift the boat to the TOP of the lift and we just prayed,lol........think we  are going to be good, if David sends me an email I can send him some pics and he can post them I am not to smart to do that on computers, thanks, all  dogdoc

Doc, You were there when I needed you when my dog was dieing. It was the least we could do to secure your boat. We were glad to do it. Thank you for the kind words again but just a day on the lake. After we talked this morning, Renee and I went for a drive to see the impact the flood had. We drove over to your house to check things out and the was more than a foot between the lake and the boat. I'm thankful the water did not rise anymore than it did. We have to have a better plan put together WHEN this happens again. Thank you for the kind words again but just a day on the lake. We moved in our new home in March of '03. That May the lake flooded twice in 11 days. Needless to say, I started to wonder if we had done the right thing in building here. Now, it's all in preparing for it when it does. It makes a difference to the stress level.
