Just moved into Cumberland Coves 4 weeks ago.  We're keeping 2 of the grandkids for a few days next month.  Is there any public place to take a six and nine year old to play in the edge of the water?  Or, is there a public pool?  While I'm asking I would also like to know where I can get a map of the Pell City and surrounding areas with street and road names.

Welcome! Can't help you much with the roads. But, if you are just looking for a place for them tonsplash around, go explore Lakeside Park. Just behind the Civic Center. I think there's a public swim area there. If you have a boat, in highly recommend Grand Island. About middle of the lake. Beach your boat on the north side and enjoy. Very kid friendly but only accessible by boat. Peace, <>< TC

Thanks so much!  I know where the park is but haven't explored it yet.  Also, don't have a boat yet but planning on one before this time next summer.  Thanks for the info on Grand Island.

Welcome to the lake! My family lives straight across from you on the Talladega side. Chances are if you can see the main channel, you can see my house. I have friends that live there as well. Can't help you on the pool for the children but I'll ask around. I have a Pell City map I'll give you or you can get one from the Chamber of Commerce. I'll post the # and address. Let us know if we can help in any way, Enjoy!

Thanks!  I actually emailed the Chamber of Commerce but heard nothing back.  Do I need to call or go by there in person?

I join the others in welcoming you to the lake. Great spot, great people. One more suggestion on the map question--go to any of the marinas and invest in a good lake map for a few bucks. I actually got mine at Wal Mart but not sure if they still carry them or not. It'll include all the lake info, i.e., submerged roads and structures, etc., marinas, parks, and will also show street names, especially those in the immediate vicinity of the lake. It'll be even more valuable when you get your boat.

Welcome, I think I have talked with you and your husband sometime in the past about misc things..... I know your neighbors the Garrisons..... Lakeside landing is a nice place but I think evverything is only accesible by docks that are not floating and with the water low the way it is for the forseeable future that may be a challenge for you all to enjoy. I have not been in years but seems like the General Lee campgrounds have and area you can wade into the water without a pier and has picnic tables for snacks. Good luck and let us know if we can help with anything else

Yes we have talked in the past before our house was completed.  Good to hear from you again and, as before, thanks for all the helpful information!
