Sorry guys but I am confused. Not that it would be that hard. :-)

Looking at the Yamaha website it says this model Yamaha F250 uses regular gas (87 Octane).

Am I correct or missing something??

Thanks,

LL

You would take the word of the Yamaha website over the word of the LakeMartinForum website?

The information you were given on this forum has taken into account the specific water properties that are present in Lake Martin water, and should not be used to determine operation in other areas.

It is my experience that, your ECU (Electronic Control Module) will adjust whatever is needed to make your engine run "as best as can" with GOOD, BAD, or BEST fuel in your tank. Kinda like when you go get gas in your car! If you get "No Ethonal" or 15% Ethonal" fuel, the engine ECU is programmed to take care of itself. Today's technology is pretty cool. Buy gas, run it, DON'T OVER THINK IT, and store your boat properly. Just sayin' Steve call me if you want. 334-657-4349. We would have a good conversation. :)

Don't you have a manual? I have a Yamaha F225 and the manual is loaded with information. If you dont have one ask a dealer to order one for you. The fuel requirement may have changed and the current models now require 87 and the earlier models 89. Whenever I buy ethonal free at marinas if seems to be 89. If you have a manual check the fuel requirement.

From what I read, you are correct....I would stay away from ethanol laced petroleum if possible.

LMAO!!

Thanks guys, all good info.

GF, I have not gotten the manual yet, they had to order it. For some reason it did not arrive with the motor or who knows.

CAT, I will call you and discuss maybe this weekend. I would like to pick your brain on that Yamaha. :-)

Thanks, LL
