The same friend who taught near Nashville loves to tell her father's favorite joke. He was born in Arkansas and told about the old fellow who during the depression had a roadside stand outside Hot Springs where he sold bottles of GENUINE HOT SPRINGS WATER to folks that stopped along the highway. One day a New Yorker in an especially long Cadilac stopped and bought three entire cases. while the old man loaded the water in the trunk the New Yorker made the comment "In these hard times it must be pretty difficult earning a living for uneducated southerners such as yourself." The old man replied "Oh, I gets along purdy good a sellin this Hot Springs city tap water to smart educated yankees sich as yoresef."
