You can bet that I will be using this trick! For those of us who love corn on the cob, this is an absolute must see! No mess to preparing it, no silks to try to brush out of the corn, it comes out clean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnBF6bv4Oe4

That is a unique trick with the microwave!! But, you gotta' wonder how the corn tastes after that long on High? Bet that I will try it on 1 ear for sure.
We just normally shuck it/silk it with a stiff veg brush/nuke it High in a covered dish with a little water until tender. And serve it with salt/pepper/butter along side the smoked baby backs, thick baked beans, and sliced maters/feta. Sweet tea. Cane-base Pecan pie later with coffee.

After normal shucking, we take each ear, wet it and wrap it in saran wrap (individually).  Stack them up and microwave and perfect!  Makes reheating leftovers easy as they already are in a re-heating wrap.

I wouldn't recommend that. Plastic can break down under high heat.

Have read the same regarding plastic wraps. We use wax paper and found such to work well.

noted, but 20+ years doing it that way when we didn't want to bother with a pot full of water.

I will certainly be using that trick, but I cook mine on the grill, still in the shuck.
