Hey dudes- LakeFest 2012 has been rescheduled one week later due to the Talladega Race weekend. Hope you all can make it. This year, we're kicking things off at noon on Friday with vendors and boat test drives. The action will continue Friday night until 10 PM. We've got a big fireworks show planned for Friday night as well.
Then, things kick back up Saturday morning at 10 am. Vendors and dealers will be on hand until 7 PM, and we'll have live entertainment rocking the main stage from noon until 7.
New this year, the event will be laid out more like a trade show, with distinct areas for kids, food, crafts, and lake lifestyle vendors. Also, we'll have closer automobile parking for VIPs and vendors.

It would be really great if it were possible to meet some of you on the lake.I will be going into my 3rd season this year and I have not met a single person while on the water that I would know how to approach as a friendly.Maybe we could fly some kind of flag that says,"Hey lets get together".Its probably my fault because of not knowing where to go and hang out.We live near the Clear Creek bridge and have been as far as the bridge on SR 34.I must say it is a most beautiful ride.I'm not complaining,its just that between all of us,we should be able to liven up this place.

Packrat, I live right around the corner from you by road and a little further by water. If you are down Constellation we are even closer. We are up there every weekend and we always enjoy meeting someone new on the lake.
Once it gets toward the end of Feb we will be up there regularly. I have a major overhaul on the house because of Chinese Drywall but hope to be through by April. We will still be on the water no matter what.

There is a new cagin place that opened on 34 right after you turn off 231 called Bayou Steamer, they have a bar area where we could meet up, I am usally at the lake house on weekends and at least one night a week. (will not be there the next two weekends though). I probably have one of the only Sea Ray's on the lake SLX250 White over Burgandy

I highly recommend us all meeting somewhere on the lake. I am not a fan of blacktops after dark.
Mikes Steaks

Huggies (should have their burger shack open again)
Coosa Island (If they ever open)
Pier 59 ( for the brave)
We talk about this every year and I am all for it once the water comes back up.

Are there any Hotels on the Water or very near a boat ramp? The powers that be down on Lake Martin have shot down the big Aquapalooza event this year. So, Some friends and I are thinking of coming up to Your event this year.
Not sure of how many may make the trip yet.

I know there are a few houses for rent on the lower end by us and is only about a 20 minute or so boat ride....

I talked to a few people who have rented before and they said they used vrbo.com. If you dont know the areas of the Lake let me know and I'll try and help. You May Also start a new subject and ask questions. There are only a handful of us that frequent here but we are spread out all over the lake and will be glad to share what we know.
