A New York family bought a ranch out West where they intended to raise cattle.
Friends came to visit and asked if the ranch had a name.
"Well," said the would-be-cattleman. "I wanted to call it the Bar-J. My wife favored the Suzy-Q. One son liked the Flying-W, and the other son wanted the Lazy-Y.
So, we're calling it the Bar-J-Suzy-Q-Flying-W-Lazy-Y."
"But where are all your cattle?"
"So far, none have survived the branding."

Brings to mind a antique joke about the old North Ga red dirt farmer who goes to a farmer/rancher convention in Dallas. He strikes up a conversation with a Texas rancher in a bar. He tells the Texan that back home he works a 70 acre farm and asks the rancher if he has much of a spread. The rancher opins that "I kin git in ma pickup rite ader ah finishes breakfast and start adrivin and by the time ah'm aready t'eat lunch ah still wouldn't uv got t'other edge of mah ranch!" The old boy from North Ga nods in sympathy "Ah know jes how ye feel, I got a old junker uv a pickup lak at muhsef."
