Great news.  FERC has approved our variance request, follow the attached link.  APCO will begin the ramp down toward the reduced minimum flows from Jordan in an effort to conserve lake levels on the Coosa.

Let everyone know.

Hello All!

Please bear with me, but my ignorance about the lake knows no bounds :(

My neighbor just told me we will not be anywhere near summer pool this year. If you do not mind, could you tell me what the approved variance means for the lake level?

My wife and I live on seasonal water and are unsure if we should just go ahead and rent a wetslip this year or if the water will rise another foot this month.

Thanks in advance!

I am pretty sure anyone that ventured to answer your question would be offering only an opinion. APCO has stated through many sources that we will NOT reach full pool and history shows that no one can predict what they will do. LMLPA seems to be making great noise this year with APCO and won a reduced release for much earlier than last year which should help and also if we get the occasional steady rain on a regular cycle it will help. The level is slowly increasing each week so as long as it is not going the other direction each week I personally am pleased. Sorry I did not answer your question.
