I know of a community where they tried to prepare the geese and serve them at homeless shelters. The people wouldn't eat it. I'm told goose is hard to prepare and greasy. I say use the meat to feed inmates. They'll eat it when they get hungry enough.

Feed them oil-dry before killing them to reduce the oil and grease. LOL

I can think of things to feed inmates besides killing such beautiful birds to keep a inmate alive

Never said they weren't pretty. I actually enjoy watching them. But with the numbers they have become, they are in fact, a nuisance. Or goosance as has been said. I'd rather have an e coli free lake to swim and play in than a goose to watch. Furthermore, they are a pest on the golf course and a danger to airports. My other 2 passions. I've heard it said that Barnett Lawley, former state director of conservation was the guy that lead the effort to introduce them to Alabama. Someone said he has a place on Logan Martin. And they also suggested we round them all up and deposit them on his property. LOL! And please don't think I'm serious about that. I do think it's funny tho! <>< TC

Goose season opens up September 1st and runs thru the 15th. You can kill 5 a day and have 10 in pocession. Im taking orders if anyone wants to some goose meat!

To get a noticable difference we need more than one hunter who's in?
