I heard part of the Car Guys show on NPR Saturday morning when they read letters from listeners telling about giving their cars names. It brought to mind a story told by one of our ministers years ago. At his very first church assignment there was a prominant member who owned and often drove a 40 year old sedan which he and everyone else called "Mayflower". The minister asked him why he called his car by that name. "Well preacher" he replied " I bought that car when I was a junior in college and named it 'Mayflower' because quite a number of Puritan gals came across in the back seat."
