What rod/reel/line combination is your favorite for striper fishing? What is the best technique if you don't have downriggers?
Thanks

live bait is the best overall, thred fin shad is best but slaties will work. Best and most durable comination is a 7 or 7.5 ft ugle stick striper rod with an ambassador 6500C reel. I use 20 lb flouracarbon line, 3 oz sinker and 17 lb leader, #2/0 or 3/0 circle hook. You need good electronics and some experience to know what you are looking at on the screen. Give me a call and can discuss futher.
