Okay- I have been meaning to ask this question for a long time but just never get around to it. Who knows the history and story behind the two statues at the end of Castaway road right before Harbor Docks? John and I have always wondered and have never found anyone that knows about them.  And on the same note- does anyone have any information or old write ups about the old Boy Scout camp (Camp Talisi)? What years was it in operation, who owned-owns it, etc. We love this area and are curious about the history of it. So- Ready , Set , Go! I know there is a world of Lake Martin knowledge amongst the people on this forum!

Get the book "Lake Martin, Alabama's Crown Jewel"....it has a lot of the lakes history. Castaway Island was an amusment park back in the 50's and what you are seeing is about all that's left. Another Larry (Little Talisi on this forum) can tell you a lot more. His home is by the old boy scout camp and he's been there for over 50 years.
