Just a little information....Just in case...
In my case, if I use ratchet straps to secure my boat to its trailer, both will float and can be moved around together.

Already done did it when you got there.. Floated that Harris+trailer like a cork over to the other ramp. LNG came up on his SeaDoo and is a witness....,,, Grandchirren too.
More than one way to float a boat'' Besides, you got a smokey Armadillo Roast to consider..

I've done that accidentally when I launched my small jetboat and forgot remove the transom-trailer straps. Kept wondering why the boat would not clear the trailer till I saw they were floating together. Boy did I feel stupid. Glad no one was watching.
