My dad and I fished from the bank near 63 this morning. He had caught some as recently as Monday, but today there was nothing there. Maybe we hit it at a bad time, or maybe it's a sign the stripers have moved out of the Double Bridges area.

Where is Elkahatchee?  I would think that the stripers would be on the lower end of the lake by now but would be holding in some deeper water around the points.  Speculation on my part though.  When the water temps get up around 74 to 75 the fish have moved to cooler water.

Also, where is the Double Bridges area?  Looking for reference points for my upcoming trip.

Sorry for the shorthand. Elkahatchee Creek crosses under AL HWY 63 just south of US HWY 280. There's an old bridge there and now a lot of folks call it Double Bridges. Google even has a Double Bridges Park reference on their map. If you want to Google Map it, search for Moose Road, Alexander City, AL, and it will get you close.

My dad had caught some stripers there as recently as Monday, so not too long ago we know some were there.

But also FYI - I have seen some striper guides in Kowaliga Bay fishing deep for the past 3 weeks, so that tells me a lot more than my hit or miss observations at Elkahatchee.
