Well, returning to the lake couldn't be complete with out some boat problems!

The steering on the ol' baja has gotten extremely difficult.

1. Steering is extremly difficult.

2. First insinct - check power steering fluid.  The pump reservoir was bone dry. Now this is the part that puzzles me... there was no sign of leaked fluid in the compartment, along the lines or near the steering assist ram.  So, I topped off the fluid ran the wheel lock to lock a couple of times with the motor off, started the motor and still no improvement or sign of a fluid leak.

3. Next I pulled the pin on steering cable rod (where it connects to the assist ram) to make sure the cable/gearbox weren't bound up.  The wheel turned easy and free.  So I assume the cable and gearbox are fine.

My first insinct tells me the power steering pump is toast, but I'm not 100% confident with that.

Long story short I plan on using it Saturday (it's still drivable, just not fun around the docks).  Any way I could drop it off at the shop late Saturday and y'all tell me what the heck is wrong?
