My mom owns a property management company in Gulf Shores and she said this has by far been the worse spring break that she can remember.  She said the jails are at capacity every morning because of so many being arrested.  She said it is terrible.

It all comes down to money.....the money they spend for rentals, food, booze, etc.

The problem is that it is not their money. It is "Momma and Daddy's" money, and they have taught me how to spend it and to conduct myself. Is there a problem??

They are kids and they don't care. A couple years ago a group was drunk and decided it would be a good idea to expand the duplex they were renting into the duplex next door so they got an axe and busted down the wall and did over $20,000 in damage.

The ironic (and sad) thing is that there are probably one or more of the kids in that group that are majoring in Environmental Sciences, Marine Biology or similar disciplines.

I can't understand how they rent these places ~ most are under the age of 21 ! Obviously they have someone ole enough sign the agreement but do the owners/rental agencies not monitor who is actually in the houses/condos???? I guess they don't care as long as the income is coming in...but I'm sure often the damages left far exceed the income made ! I would be horrified to know a bunch of college kids were in my home doing all sorts of damage!!
