Our miniature Black and Tan dachshund went overboard this afternoon around 6:00. We were near the entrance to Jack's Slough where the large new lot with the stacked stone sea wall is. Not sure if that's exactly where it happened, but we noticed her missing soon after. We were moving at slow cruise speed and made no abrupt turns or stops. She has no tags, but is microchipped. Please call (706) 575-3679 if you happen to find her, dead or alive...

Great news. So glad for you. Buy a doggie lifejacket and tie him-her with a rope. Better yet, leave your buddy home next time.

Great advise about doggie lifejacket. Would be good idea to have owners names and phone numbers inside the lifejacket, just in case. Thank God that she wasn't a very long way from land when she went over. That could have been awful! I suffer from an extreme tender heart for all God's creatures...especially those trusted to our care! So thankful for a happy ending! God bless!

Thank you for all the prayers and concern. She is (still, thankfully) 13 and has been a lake dog for quite awhile. She loves to ride and look out the back of the boat. We have another dachshund as well, and they are thick as thieves. Never had an issue with either coming close to falling in. Having that said, both will wear vests from now on. Haven't had that strenuous an 18 hours probably ever! Most importantly my two little girls still have both their best friends! Thanks again for the well wishes. Happy Easter! He is risen!!!
