I'd like to know as well- some people net them below some of the dams, I've heard.

I haven't caught live shad on Martin but I have seen shad schools near Woods and Youngs Island. What I do at times is go near those islands and beach the boat first. Next I take bread and throw it next to the boat in about 3 -4 ft of water. When the bream and shiners get thick under the bread I throw a 6 - 8 ft cast net and hall in bait. It only takes 10 minutes to get 50 - 100 baits. I like the 4+ inch shiner and 3+ inch bream. They don't wotk as well as shad for stripers but they do work.
