According to the Alex City Outlook there was a collision between a bass boat and a pontoon boat with mulitiple serious injuries.  That is the extent of details in the article.

An Alexander City man died last night after a boat crash in Lake Martin. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sgt. Steve Jarrett said 66-year-old Stanley Sides was killed when the pontoon boat he was operating was struck by a bass boat around 8:45 p.m. The accident occurred in the Tallapoosa River channel of Lake Martin between Dennis Creek and Mallard Point in Tallapoosa County, a release stated. Two others on the pontoon boat were injured, authorities said, and they were treated for their injuries at Russell Medical Center.
