Is a 26' (or less) boat that will do 60+ mph legal on Lake Martin ?

Not that I own one or want one . . . . but why do I never see those loud V8 drag boats on the lake ?

Might be same reason 28' PONTOON'er fly low up and down the lake. I say get rid of 

Length law and put Radar on State Trooper boats since it's all ALEA now.  :)

Good question about the less than 27'  with a big blown engine which would be funnnnnnnnn.

1. Any vessel longer than 30’6”.
2. Any houseboat.
3. Any vessel longer than 26’11” that is capable of exceeding 60 m.p.h.

Category 1 and 2 can be “grandfathered” in providing the owner prove to the Marine Police Division that the particular vessel was in use on Lake Martin prior to July 1, 2006 or offered for sale at an adjacent marina or dealer prior to that same date. The vessel’s owner is required to make application for a lake usage permit that is renewable annually and pay the corresponding fee.

My boat is legal on lake martin,  legal in every way,  and runs 125mph. Very well known around the lake,  either loved or hated lol.

Come on folks. Most go to the lake for peace and quiet. It shouldn't be turned into Talladega.
