Subject:	Marker Buoys

I want to put some marker buoys out in front of my docks.   I found a souce for 20" inflatables that I can remove after the storm.

Is there a rule/regulation as to how far they can be from the docks?  I would love to have some No Wake bouys but I don't know if they are allowed for homeowner use.

Buoys like the Hazard Buoys, etc. on the lake cannot be put out by individuals, but unmarked buoys can be put out in front of swim platforms.  Max distance is 25' or 50', DMR needs to answer distance, but I use the ski buoys which work great except for the occasional numbskull who passes inside the buoys and passes within 10' of the swim platform.  Overall the personal buoys work quite well to remind folks to respect the swimmers and property.

Reasonable boaters will respect a No-Wake or Hazard buoy. We have a relatively new No-Wake buoy at the entrance to our cove,,, and one of our residents or their guests apparently cannot read,, or does not care. Education is sometimes a difficult thing. Class is even tougher. July 4 a bad time to judge, perhaps.

No, Hodja, it is a No Wake bubble that "magically" appeared last year. 99.9% of lakers approach our cove, slow down, cruise thru, wave and exit (or tie up for a visit). Then there is that exception that cannot read... and needs a crisp slap in the side of the head for attention??

We have been sporatic this year at best. Down 7/17 thru the end of July at least. This year I moved to large plastic feedstock tubs for my garden, in a semi-shaded location on the East side of house,,ie. shaded from about 1:00 PM on. Not good for maters, but crazy good for basil and parsley. I'll move the mater pots into the sun in Winter.

How did your garden perform this year?? And,,, how many different tomatoes do you cultivate, sir??
