During all the rude and excessive wake surfing and other wild boat driving creating huge wake swells past my dock this weekend, one of the poles that my floating dock rides up and down on broke off. I don't mean pulled from the lake bed, I mean broke off below the waterline. Now I am looking for a solution to replace it. Easy in the winter when the water is down but is there some way to drive one in with the water up?

How big is the pole?  They make a special hydraulic vibrator that would work, but not an easy task without some heavy equipment.  Lake Martin Dock Company can hook you up.

I installed 2" galvanized pipes on two docks and they rusted and broke at the threads after a few years, so I have switched to stainless steel 2" and I had the elbows welded after the couplings were tight.  So far, so good.  BTW, I mount the pipes to dock piling poles, top and bottom.  Not as expensive as it sounds.

If you still have a couple of feet above the lake bed, you could slide a 10' section of 4" - 6" PVC or conduit over it. Not a permanent solution but mey hold up until water drops.

Once you have a sleeve in place you might consider filling it with concrete. Mix it dry and thick and even water is getting in it will still set up and reinforce the PVC.

My thoughts exactly. The poles was/is a 4X6 so a 6" PVC will not exactly fit but maybe I can pound it on.

The break left a sharp point which will help.

If you can use an 8" pipe drive it into the mud as far as you can then mix the first bag or two soupy so it will flow in around the wood. Actually you could go as big as you want around the wood to allow more concrete and then reduce the size above the broken wood to whatever size you need to make connection to the floater.
