Watched the video of The Landing. Havent been able to make it over there yet but have plans for a bunch to go over soon. Watching the video Herb Winches stated it was needed "especially on the west side". One of our furom members has made basically the same statement several times. Someone please enlighten me as to what we have on the "Dadeville" side that make you think the west side needs more?

The west side has Harbor Docks, Kowliga, and now The Landing. Eateries all. The Dadeville side has Chuck's but it is closer to the west side than it is a good portion of the east. North from there there is currently no eateries unless you count Peanut Point. Bay Pines is working on serving food but it will be a good snack bar at best, not a sit down eatery. I don't count Niffers although you can go by water if you don't mind a hike, which I have done. Was there Friday night by car. True there may be more off water eateries worth frequenting but there is NOTHING on water. IMO the entire lake needs more entertainment destinations.

Could not agree with you more! Russell Marine owns the old “Hill Top” restaurant on Hwy 280 just above their River North Marina and I understand they have thought about reopening it with a way to get up to it by water. It would be a “Gold Mine”, good name for it. Let’s hope someone opens something on the water soon on our side of the lake!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad thing is they had a great tenant in there serving great food but canceled her lease during irrational exuberance of 2007-2008 with a plan for condos to go there. There is a great facility across the road in that complex but so far nobody has been able to make a go of it. Some blame the access but I went each time it was opened and the problem was poor management, most likely from lack of experience.

Amen!!  Have been wondering about the old Lake Hill Restaurant - great location.  Also the Elks Lodge would be a prime location for a restaurant - have been there once and ate outside on the deck and it was so pleasant.

Is that Pleasure Point Marina salvageable to turn it into anything? I understand the issues with the area??

I agree and wish there was at least one place up our way. I guess this is the price we pay for the serenity we have vs the boiling cauldren down south.
