I haven't heard anymore about whether the FERC Commisioners signed what they needed to sign to put in place the 483.00 level and draw down not until October.  Can anyone give us a heads up?

We haven't heard anything official from FERC or APCo, but APCo did file an unusual document with FERC a couple of weeks ago.  They requested a number of revisions to the Final Environmental Impact Statement that was published by FERC over four months ago.   I find it strange that APCo would wait four months to file for changes, after telling the public, at the Annual HOBO Meeting that they hoped to receive final approval from the commission this summer so water level changes could be made this winter.  How long will these requested changes take to work through the system is unknown, but I get the weird feeling that the delayed filing was intentional.  I'll post the APCo filing shortly, when I can get to my computer.

The part at the bottom of the first page about removing the 490.5 level from the license....is this a good or bad thing?  Seems bad to me.

Not good.  They're asking for free liberty to whatever they want.  To a certain extent they do need some leeway, like today we're at 488' 6", because it's been hot and dry, but removing all controls would take us back to the 50s and 60s.

AlaPowCo was just out replacing worn 'structure placards'.  The guy said that it doesn't look as though we will have 483 this year but they are having a meeting tomorrow and he will know more about it then.

They can start dropping it today if they like and drop it like a rock after the holiday weekend. It's time for a nice peaceful lake without all the cabin cruisers and wake boats.

amen to those peaceful lake thoughts . But  the rec boaters really only over-populate the waters on weekends and holidays so as a fisherman , I adapt to those conditions . 5 days out of 7 is not a bad trade-off . Still , I am thankful for football and deer hunting as well . Neither of these 2 activities interest me at all other than in the fact that they give the rec boaters something else to do besides making waves and putting the fish down . My former home lake ,  Hiwassee in SW NC , has a difference in summer pool and winter pool levels of 35 vertical feet , so an 8 foot variance here seems insignificant to me .
