Crawfish are out of season. Only thing out there is deep water ones. Hard shells and shrunken tails. Don't reccommend them this time of year.  I am paying $5.50 a pound for 26/30 Gulf white shrimp 5 pound frozen blocks. Great quality. I own a restaurant in Douglasville,Ga.

Is that price head on or headless?  Not bad if it's headless.

That's pretty good for Gulf shrimp.  We lived on the MS coast for years.  Used to buy off the boats, ungraded, head on for 90 cents a pount.  Got a lot of Gumbo sized shrimp, but still good.  That was before diesel prices drove most folks out of the business,

If your place is Gumbeaux's then congrats, its a great place to eat. Been there a couple of times. I heard the owner had a place on Lake Martin and was considering opening a place here. I even asked our server last time if it was true. He didn't know but was fairly new.

Yes sir that is my place and thank you so much for the compliment. I would like to open something much smaller over here on the water if ever possible. Plan on building a home sometime in the near future. You think my prices would fly over here. I am not going to sacrifice quality of product to be able to have a cheaper menu item?? Any thoughts ??

At first glance your prices seemed a little steep but when quality and portion sizes were revealed i had no complaints. Please pursue a location here, on the Dadeville side where it is really needed. There is a facility at the North Lake condo complex and across the highway. The lake hill building is owned by Russell but would be great if you could get it. Fabulous views. It would require am major expense to gain water access though.

Next time I am in Douglasville I will be back in Gumbeauxs. I have friends there and go over fairly regular. Gods luck on construction. What part of the lake are you on?

I think you would do great. I would recommend opening something part time similar to what Herb Winches is doing in Parker Creek. You may can strike a deal with the lodge owners where the BBQ place used to be on Hwy 49. I suspect they still have the kitchen and infrastructure available.

LSU BOY -- Small world -- Have been to Gumbeauxs many times.  I work for a Law firm in Dallas GA and we go there often with clients and vendors. Excellent food!  Wish you could open something like that here but I understand the difficulties.

If you could the get old store place at pleasure point or the place where they have the boat storage building wih it's ramp and dock you would be set . I would think that would be more unique than joining the crowd at Blue Creek .Oppurnities will exist in the near future for the re-development of that whole Pleasure Point area and there are a lot of up-scale houses in the area around there .

No Shay they are wild caught domestic white shrimp from the Gulf. Just starting getting them back in the past month or so. They have a great texture and taste. Count at 28 per pound .
