Played Stillwaters last Friday with a friend. First time I have played there is a couple of years, and I have to say the new owners have made substantial improvement to the course. Fairways and greens were in good - great shape. As others have noted, many of the traps still need help but they are working on them, so just takes time. There were quite a few other players on the course so hopefully with more paying customers, the cash flow will allow continued upgrades. The carts are now GPS enabled with course layout and distance information which is nice. Only complaint was the "cart police" software, which shut the cart down if you drove too close to the green, requiring you to back up and re-direct until the software was happy. It also monitors/controls your speed if you go too fast ( in the computers opinion).
Overall, very playable and an enjoyable outing. I will certainly play there again.

I agree with your evaluation of Stillwaters golf course. It is nice that it is "playable" again.
It is not uncommon for GPS equipped carts to keep you a certain distance from the greens.
Unfortunately, all players (as opposed to "golfers") don't understand the importance of caring for the area around the green and possibly even the green itself

As a full time resident of Still Waters for the past two and a half years, I would drive past this course to play in Auburn because I refused to play on such a terrible course (especially for what they were charging). I have now cancelled my Auburn membership and joined Still Waters. I've been playing here regularly now for the past three months and every time I play I see more improvements. Keith Hiett is doing a great job getting the course in it's best shape in years. They have great golf and social membership packages. The restaurant is opening in a couple of weeks. Lot's of excitement around here and I glad to be apart of it.

I am not a full time resident but bought a Stillwaters membership because it's a no brainer. Having a viable golfing option combined with the opportunity for a new social community option is value added for all of us on the east side of lake. A successful Stillwaters improves the quality of life and enhances the real estate value for existing and future stakeholders. My understanding is they are considering a fitness center in the future as well.
i will be attending the Social function this Friday and look forward to meeting some brother Lake Lovers.
The success of Stillwaters Golf really depends on spreading the word and assisting Keith's renewal efforts. Plus....it's a great deal!
