Enjoyed watching a flock of 60-75 white pelicans on the small island in Coopers Slough this morning. Got a few pictures, but was wishing for a longer lens on the camera. I stepped out of the kitchen and when I came back they were gone. Would have loved to see them take off and in flight. Apparently they migrate from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico for the  winter. Glad I got to see them.

Ran into them yesterday AM in Blue Creek. The fog was so thick, I got to 50 or so yards of them. Surreal sight. 30 to 50 white pelicans in such a fog, that your vision was limited to 30 yards at times.

For people that know, they were under the big Budweiser sign.  lol

that's cool SR . That is a big flock . Maybe they will come over the ridge to the east of youand I will get to see them . I have caught a few pelicans and ganets and stuff accidentaly around Indian River Lagoon FL area . they would go after a top water plug  . Had to reel them in and put my cap over their heads so I could grab their bill to hold them  and unhook them .

What are these little diving duck like birds with brown heads that only have their heads above water when they surface . Whatever they are they have tipped me to where some suspended bait fish were lately .
