We've had a few break ins off County Rd 34 near Pleasure Point - specifically - Wynndy Hill Road, Doe Road, and Otter Lane.  Besides "breaking" in the door frame to get inside, the target seems to be Flat Screen TV's.  Keep an eye out and call the Sheriff's office if you notice anything unusual in your neighborhood.   256 825-4264 or you can dial 911.

We had a door kicked in last Monday night. They appear to have been grabbing the most immediate flat screen when the alarm went off and they split. We have a very loud outdoor siren along with monitoring. Sheriffs said the thieves  wet tire tracks were still in the drive when they arrived. Turner Point road. The alarm seems well worth having

All this is the best investment I have ever made in terms of security after our lake house was burgularized May of 2015.

I tried the HD and Lowes motion lights, installed them, and then took them back the next weekend as not 100% reliable at all.

Then I got smart and purchased high end motion sensor lights and they are 100% reliable and plus installed LED floods and you cannot drive up on or walk on my property without these lights going off and lighting the property like it was daytime. Not cheap. but you have to pay for true quality.

360 degree -- http://www.amazon.com/RAB-Lighting-STL360HBW-Stealth-Sensor/dp/B000W3YI26

270 degree - http://www.amazon.com/RAB-Lighting-STL200HW-Precision-Detection/dp/B000W41J9K/ref=pd_sim_328_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=310sl2rMqPL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1ZYRB91Q57KFFS5ZYXHB

Have the 270 degrees on ends of house and the 360 degree at every entrance.  Also great to walk out of the house and the lights illuminate or drive up late at night and multiple lights come on instead of coming home to a dark property.

Lights have a 10 year warranty, unheard of for motion sensor lights.

Then on top of the lights I installed a DIY home security system from Frontpoint, so easy, ordered the system, arrived in 3 days or so and installed and programmed in a little over an hour -- system is web and phone app based with a home panel as well. Then saved 20% on my homeowners insurance - hey every penny counts. Not cheap, but a very great piece of mind after being burglarized. Plus I have codes for the pest control, plumber, neighbors, cleaning service, etc and I receive an email and text when they arrive and another when they leave so know exactly how long there are in the house -- Guess what pest control was there for 5 minutes -- humm how do you do a 2 houses (main and boathouse) in 5 minutes impossible so the company received a phone call from a very unsatisfied customer.

Also just a word of advice even if someone is referred to you on this forum to provide services, buyers beware as the person might also be casing your house to come back later. -- Just sayin be careful.

We have seen a 70's, 80's or early 90's white Ford truck that seems suspect.

Residents of Paces Point, the only way these thugs are going to be caught is if everyone starts writing down every car, tag and occupant description they see and don't recognize and give that info to the sheriff deputy working the area immediately!

The deputy's can't catch theives without your help! Law of averages won't let that happen! Every theif has been caught by a good nosey neighbor! Keep your eyes open and a pencil and pad with you!
