(I was going to post this on the Lake Martin SCUBA forum but it doesn't look like there's been any activity on it for a couple years)

I've been a lurker here on the Lake Martin forums for many years now and have read some great tips and helpful advice (along with a few bad jokes) during this time. I even feel like I would recognize a few of you out on the lake just from reading your posts over the years! Well, my dream of owning a lake place finally came true a couple of months ago and I now find myself in need of your advice.

Last weekend I had my parents up so they could enjoy a few days of R&R at the lake. Sunday was such a beautiful day so we took the new    pontoon boat (another dream come true by the way) out for a spin. They thoroughly enjoyed the outing but as we were putting the cover back on the boat, my dad leaned over too far and his prescription glasses slid out of his pocket and into the water. Unfortunately, these weren't your bargain basement Glasses-R-Us variety of eyewear. My dad had an eye injury many years ago that requires him to have special lenses that cost over $500. We tried finding the glasses using a pool net, a magnet, and even fishing for them with an awfully mean looking mass of hooks (thanks again Kurt and Larry!), but had no luck. My parents are senior citizens on a fixed income so we'd like to prevent having to replace those glasses if at all possible. So here's my need... are there any scuba divers out there who would be willing to look for some eyeglasses in about 9' - 10' of water at a pier at the Crowne Pointe condos? I'd be willing to pay a reasonable fee for someone to try and find them. I'm hoping it would be a relatively quick find, but in all honesty we could have pushed the glasses under some rocks in our efforts to retrieve them. Fortunately my dad has an old pair of glasses that he's using in the meantime but he will need to order another pair soon if we can't find his in the next week or so.

Thanks so much in advance for any advice you can give!

A suggestion is to go back to the Scuba thread and send emails to the list of those who posted under Scuba Divers and Start A LakeMartin Scuba Club. Read each post for telephone numbers. Good luck.
