...Store location. I get the move, but in gaining some room to maneuver (especially if you like looking at the books) they lost a lot of charm. And in their one big building, they now have much less stuff.

But the biggest "huh?" of the move: they no longer sell anything related to water. No skis, tubes, wake boards, life jackets, etc. No boats, Seadoos, sailboats, or anything like that. It's like they forgot, or no longer care, that many of their customers live on the lake.

You post is both untrue and unfair. I called the thrift store at 334-857-2133 and read your posting to the manager. She said they are still in the process of moving and they will continue to accept and sell all the of items you mentioned.

They should have said that when I asked today, instead of "I think that stuff is still over there, and as far as I know we won't have it over here."

We could not find the new entrance!  Did not see any signs.  Either there was the old entrance,  the entrance to the cottages or the Paul Bear Bryant Rd.  Where did we go wrong?

Did Salvation Army accept it?  Most people don't want the older tv-s if they are not flat screen.  We are getting to toss one because no organization will take it.

Because you can buy a smaller brand new HD flat screen for a hundred bucks, the old tubes are basically worthless. You may get a taker if you offer it for free on Craigslist, but it's not economical for most charities to deal with them.....I'm suprised there are any out there that will still take a tube TV.

I think the ones that do take it do so only for the electronic scrap value. A truckload will net a few dollars with those that specialize in recovery of gold and silver.

If you do offer it on Craigslist, chances are you'll be contacted by a serial killer.

I have sold a lot of stuff on craigslist and not met a serial killer yet. I sold a jeep in 23 minutes! Confirmation email at 12:57pm and phone call at 1:20. Five minutes later he was looking at it and back from bank with cash in less than half hour. I love CL.
