A very large area of smoke has arrived on our part of the lake late this afternoon.... in the area of Ochachoy & Pitchford Creeks.  No obvious source from where I sit... any one know where it is coming from?     It smells like a large trash fire, not woodsmoke.   It's huge, on the ground dispite the winds, and dense enough to make your eyes sting.

All over Parker Creek as well, which is just over the woods from you.

Tallapoosa Sherriff says its the result of a controlled burn on Hwy 63......180 acres   Visability was down to less than a mile from here to Kowliga Bridge... that's as far as I could run before it got dark... this smoke bank is staying close to the ground and  really bad.   Folks with respiratory problems really ought to stay inside tonight if you are anywhere in Parker or Kowliga creek, Willow Point areas.

The air is thick with smoke in the Goodwater/Hackneyville area also.  As bad as I have ever seen here.

Yes, it is pretty bad.  At first, I thought someone was burning down your way, Copperline, but there is so much of it, I figured it had to be something much bigger.  There was a thought that because I was broiling something that perhaps it was coming from our house, but no.  Glad to know the source.

No, it isn't us.  I believe you were an eye witness to our cabin burn.  We weren't here for that particular event.  You are right though, the smoke is really dense and low.  I pity anyone with respiratory problems, between the pollen and the smoke.

I was told it was a controlled burn in Talladega national forest.

There is not a record or news story of a large controlled burn. The anniston Star usually report any controll burn in the talladega forest for safteys sake.  Nor is there a news story of a forrest fire in Talladega county.  Hmmm
